Circuit of the Americas (COTA)

United States Grand Prix

The Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas is one of Formula 1’s most modern and spectacular venues. Since hosting its first United States Grand Prix in 2012, the track has become a favorite for drivers and fans alike thanks to its flowing layout, dramatic elevation changes, and unmistakable first corner. Rising steeply uphill before tightening into a sharp left-hand hairpin, Turn 1 creates one of the most iconic overtaking opportunities on the F1 calendar and often sets the tone for thrilling battles throughout the race.

Inspired by some of the greatest circuits in the world, COTA blends design elements reminiscent of tracks like Silverstone, Suzuka, and Hockenheim. The fast, sweeping “Esses” in the opening sector demand precision and commitment, while the long back straight offers prime chances for slipstreaming and DRS overtakes. The final sector tightens into a technical stadium section where drivers must balance braking and traction perfectly before launching onto the main straight.

Beyond the racing, the United States Grand Prix in Austin has become one of Formula 1’s biggest events, combining world-class motorsport with the energy of the city’s music and culture. Massive crowds fill the circuit each year, enjoying live concerts, vibrant fan zones, and Texas hospitality alongside the roar of F1 engines. With its challenging layout and electric atmosphere, the Austin race continues to be one of the highlights of the Formula 1 season.
